Re War on Nicotine….no one is talking about how the “illict” products have virtually no nicotine in. In one shop during a quiet time I read on 6 different brands the tar & nico content. The highest nico i found was just 0.9…on a “red” Manchester pack. TAR was a whole 12mg. Now, here’s the critical anecdote. The young lady on staff that day, was not a smoker but said after talking to me, she understood more why her 22 yr old brother CHAIN SMOKED Manchester Red & ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL. Ok he was also drinking too much, an exacerbated influence. But ALSO, in this particular shop, a display of all the cigarettes brands available, had little stickers on with handrawn numbers. It became apparent to me that these indicated TAR Content. NOT NICOTINE CONTENT. A previous time at this shop in looking for cigs with the highest nicotine… hopeless…. that days young staff person, A SMOKER, was NOT AWARE these handwritten stickers were TAR. She works there. She assumed it was the Nicotine content!! NOW, all us who are literally smoking straw, smoke way more, are getting WAY more TAR. And so technically will become more of “a burden” faster than if we could afford NORMAL LEGAL products. WHY do i suspect the US style of BS studies that argue supply only SEVERELY REDUCED NICOTINE, sees “lots” quiting, has been nefariously enabled by the Australian past & current govts. I believe the “criminal” black market has, is, quietly been okayed. All the talk about 5bill loss of tax on smokers fm stuff that had the highest tax on anything ever, is a “smokescreen”. Nicotine is being leeched out of the product…to fill the increased pressure to supply growing numbers of nicotine VAPERS AROUND THE WORLD. EXCEPT HERE, FOR US LONG-TERM SMOKERS! ESPECIALLY CRUEL, VILE. I can’t find a single reference after months of random searches about how a Red Winfield say, has 12 WHOLE MILIGRAMS of nicotine, while an illict Manchester Red has…..0.9mg…….The reality analyses of those dumb US studies showed less than 7% of smokers actually gave up…. over the 2 pissy month study, when agreed to smoke only SEVERELY REDUCED NICOTINE cigs…. A further small percent cut down. But the significance of it all, this illict stuff WITH VIRTUALLY NO NICOTINE, is typically, lost amongst the do gooding twisted false economics nonsense. Too easy to Punch Down on self-pollututers & whine about their “burden on taxpayers in public health system”. Much easier than facing the real pollutors & poisoners literally getting away with insidious murder of everyone & everything. Eh. The misleading labels re Tar, not nicotine is obviously done as long term smokers are used to most to choosing by nico content. Many of us in the past, would choose a bit lower nicotine content to lower the TAR CONTENT FOR OUR LUNGS. But NOW, with the illict stuff, as i reiterate…..that Red Manchester WAS 12mg of TAR…..WITH ONLY 0.9mg of NICOTINE.

Lastly.

The sick irony of finding in my search for some bloody nicotine in those illict packs, that the one supposed to have been made in NSW somewhere, had ZERO info on what nicotine & tar was in it.

Why is first world gross consumption that finds people, flora , fauna sacrificed for baubles & bubbles, not railed as a global addiction disgrace ??. I’m 64, I have no intention of giving up now. I & the never ending new smokers, youth, are being screwed by the criminals & our govts. And being led to hospital far quicker than if we had reasonable priced products WITH NICOTINE IN.
