The laws do not stop people from using drugs or protect families. After 50 years of harsh enforcement, illicit drugs are more available than ever.

  • I think Australia needs to introduce a new “no harm” policy on drugs and human behaviour in general and should be the first country to fully legalise and manage a nation that locally dispense’s all “drugs” not poisons obviously, but all drugs. The very first time during a drug trial they heard of adverse effects in a human there should have been a realisation that this would and could keep reoccurring where the science they are putting it down to is “brain chemistry” and this brain chemistry reacts different with different drugs and is different in every human for some unknown reason to leading scientists as a “community”. This is the “science” right? Stay with me… so if we are all at risk of experiencing different side effects and psychoactive responses to the same drug then it should be a human right that you can self medicate with any substance that increases your “quality of life” or make you slightly more comfortable in your slow death however you choose to view life. But humans using any drugs or alcohol not causing harm to the community, like stunt men exist… for real… can you ever truly believe if someone has had a car accident if stunt men exist? I’m not sure who led an entire planets culture shift away from the plants god taught us to use for medication and therapy from everyday life and the leaders of it need to be faced with the same threats of violence. Public humiliation. And lack of opportunity that I have been faced with as a drug user… I only just recently started shooting up… 4 years ago now… if I’m ever over powered by police again and arrested for the drugs I own or grow myself am I going to have access to the medications and therapies I have been under going previous to incarceration? No. Sounds like faeces and hep c because I’m that fucking desperate that I fist fought officers politicians and anyone else that stood between me and feeling comfortable in my own skin god taught us to use these plants, they are agriculture, it is designed to be consumed therapeutically daily and here I hear a culture of labelling people junkies because they do what was designed for therapy daily… because they need therapy daily. If I can’t make a change through some channel safely like this then I’m going to fight for my right to party at Parliament House with my brothers and anyone else who supports the cause.
  • Please could I access medical marijuana despite a history of psychosis or can we just legalise it. I believe small doses of methamphetamine can help depression as it’s a good source of dopamine and treat autism as it really helps people communicate

    Taken over many years , only until you realised that i had to hit that wall was “SHATTERED” couldn’t breathe had to learn be able to change to try everyday to better Life.can’t numb it. So then comes many years dealing, learning how to live, try make see what everyone else but myself.

    The cost of their choices they’re made beyond words but then im the so call black sheep . They’re dont get it, they’re have a consistent to Think they’re done so wrong.

  • I’ve just come from Benalla dropping off a testing kit to a friend who I’m terrified for. I’m disgusted with the amount poisoned drugs, I get it wanting to make it illegal but the current legislation/laws have proven to be ineffective and if even a quarter of the stories I’ve listened to are true then it is actively causing harm. So many people in town are paranoid to even order a testing kit because they’re afraid that the package will be reported to the police and that they end up on a watch list or be raided. Please ask oneself a question: Do you know the level of distrust in local law enforcement has to be in order for that amount of paranoia to be present? In my opinion, a huge amount. Overseas, there have been many very effective laws/legislation that have been put in place, treating this issue more akin to a health issue, why can not Australia adopt them? We have the empirical evidence, real-world and tested data, why are we not using it? Something has to change because people are dying! Or in my recent personal case, worried for a friend who might need a limb amputated because he got a batch of poisoned drugs. Writing this tears have come to my eyes as I have remembered past friends in my youth who have died, a flood of memories of joyous occasions tarnished by anger because I know most of those deaths were preventable. I don’t know what needs to change, I’m not smart enough to know what that is but something does.
  • Let’s make Australia the vanguard of inevitable change rather than being led there kicking and screaming looking like the brutish fool it is at present. This is the new world so be progressive. I am a mere pleb but my vote counts and it only goes to a candidate who believes in drug law reform and the numbers of us are growing. Change the laws do wat your supposed as you represent the people,make Australia a fairer better place for all .
  • Illicit drugs made my life bareable after extreme childhood trauma 3 lsd trips and I found peace with my past. If only that could be maintained safely.

  • My brother was killed by fentanyl poisoning. We need drug policy reform to prevent more tragic, senseless deaths of young people.
  • We should absolutely be in favour of legalisation of drugs – the state has failed in their war on drugs and we need radically rethink our policies.
